I would like to thank everyone who helped in this campaign – people who donated their time, energy, and money to the effort to bring sensible representation to the 2nd District.
Through the campaign, I learned a tremendous amount about the district and the many, many wonderful people who live here. The people of the 2nd District are engaged and interested in the well-being of their state and their country, and they are willing to work hard to make it an even better place to live.
You were inspiring to me, and I thank you for all of the things I learned from you.
Best regards,

Tax cuts initiated by President Bush have produced the best economic growth in 20 years, but Rick Larsen is talking about “rolling back” – repealing – the tax cuts. Does he represent you?
When Republicans and Democrats stood together, shoulder to shoulder with President Bush to fight terrorism and defeat a despicable tyrant in Iraq, Rick Larsen voted – against. Does he represent you?
Rick Larsen voted against most of President Bush’s tax proposals – against capital gains and dividend relief, against income tax rate cuts, and even against an increase in the child tax credit – hurting retired citizens and families in one fell swoop. Does he represent you?
Rick Larsen voted for a tax plan that would have retained federal estate taxes, taxes that hurt family farms and businesses. Does he represent you?
Rick Larsen has never owned a business. How can he understand what taxes and fees do to the small businesses that are the backbone of our economy? Does he represent you?
This election is about leadership! It is about who will be an effective voice for you.
As a successful businesswoman, I know what it takes to meet a payroll and I understand the bottom line – skills we need in Congress at a time when federal spending is ballooning.
As a community leader, I am connected to the people I serve. I have been honored to serve the South Whidbey Rotary Club, Washington Federation of Republican Women, St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, and the South Whidbey Youth Center among others.
As an active Island County Auditor since 1997, I have learned how to get things done, working with people who have differing priorities. I know how to apply common sense to thorny issues, creating winning solutions. I will be an active advocate for the 2nd Congressional District.
This is the most important Congressional race in Washington this year because it has such a good chance of success! I will need your help, but we can replace Rick Larson. It will take funds, time, and your commitment to share the word with your family and friends, but we can do it, and I will represent you.
